    Michael Jordan (MJ), a name synonym to NBA. Having credit to his account, 6 NBA championships, 14 times NBA All Star, 10 times All NBA first team and a countless never ending inventory of titles and awards, he is the greatest NBA player of all the time. 

    Beginning his career by joining Chicago Bulls in 1984, he lead everybody amazed with his stunning performance and art of the game with mastery in defense. His patented “Slam Dunks” bought him the title of “Air Jordan”. MJ showing the spirit of a real sports person had passion in other games like baseball, football and basketball. For realizing his passion he took a step forward to play from NBA to base ball in 1993-94. However, he returned back to the old pavilion of NBA in 1995 with the Bulls and made a conquest consequently over a period of 3 years i.e. 1996, 1997 and 1998. 

    MJ retired finally got retired in 1999 but only with the Bulls and not with basketball. He made a comeback in 2001 but in the court and alliance with Washington Wizard.
MJ entitles himself with the titles of All NBA first team designations, All- defensive first team honors, NBA defensive player and was framed at Basketball Hall of fame in recent, April 6, 2009.

    MJ had a three tier retirement cycle. Firstly, he got himself retired in October’93. Retirement announcement shattered the NBA and was published in the newspapers across globe. Secondly, he moved himself away was in Jan’99 (final retirement from Bulls). His comeback was with Washington wizards in Sep’2001.
He was finally departed from the game he loved because of torn cartilage in his right knee.

   MJ was casted on 2 Olympic Basketball games for United States, which won the Olympic Gold Medal in 1984 and 1992 in Los Angeles and Barcelona respectively.

Spreading the glory of NBA to the world, the NBA has acclaimed MJ as “By Acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all the time”.

There’s a record in the NBA that most 40-year-old fans and aging baby boomers could draw inspiration from. This record was set when Michael Jordan and the Wizards were still on the best of terms. It happened during one game on February 21, 2003 when Michael was still playing for the Washington franchise, and he tallied 43 points to become the first NBA player in the 40 years bracket to have scored that much. Despite his advanced years by players’ standards, Jordan was still a force to reckon with while with the Wizards, averaging 20 points per game in addition to contributing 3.8 assists as well as 1.5 steals per outing.

What’s sad, however, was that despite Michael’s heroics the Washington Wizards failed to make any of the playoffs during his stint with this team in 2001-2003. Nevertheless, Michael Jordan and the Wizards remained the top draw among NBA teams, with all their games at the MCI Center always before a sell-out crowd. Overall, the Washington squad was then polled as among the most popular NBA teams, with more than 20,000 spectators in home games and almost an equal amount on the road. But success on the hard court eluded the Wizards, leading to open criticism of team mates by the driven Jordan who was their president. Looking back, Jordan had expressed regrets over coming out of retirement to join the Washington Wizards, saying that he was used by franchise owner Abe Pollin who unceremoniously booted him out as president of basketball of operations, leading to Michael’s falling out with the team in 2003.
