Michael Jordan (MJ), a name synonym to NBA. Having credit to his account, 6 NBA championships, 14 times NBA All Star, 10 times All NBA first team and a countless never ending inventory of titles and awards, he is the greatest NBA player of all the time.
Beginning his career by joining Chicago Bulls in 1984, he lead everybody amazed with his stunning performance and art of the game with mastery in defense. His patented “Slam Dunks” bought him the title of “Air Jordan”. MJ showing the spirit of a real sports person had passion in other games like baseball, football and basketball. For realizing his passion he took a step forward to play from NBA to base ball in 1993-94. However, he returned back to the old pavilion of NBA in 1995 with the Bulls and made a conquest consequently over a period of 3 years i.e. 1996, 1997 and 1998.
MJ retired finally got retired in 1999 but only with the Bulls and not with basketball. He made a comeback in 2001 but in the court and alliance with Washington Wizard.
MJ entitles himself with the titles of All NBA first team designations, All- defensive first team honors, NBA defensive player and was framed at Basketball Hall of fame in recent, April 6, 2009.
MJ had a three tier retirement cycle. Firstly, he got himself retired in October’93. Retirement announcement shattered the NBA and was published in the newspapers across globe. Secondly, he moved himself away was in Jan’99 (final retirement from Bulls). His comeback was with Washington wizards in Sep’2001.
He was finally departed from the game he loved because of torn cartilage in his right knee.
MJ was casted on 2 Olympic Basketball games for United States, which won the Olympic Gold Medal in 1984 and 1992 in Los Angeles and Barcelona respectively.

This may very well be the emcee’s spiel come April when the inductees to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is announced to the public during the Final Four of the NCAA to be held in Detroit, Michigan. Earlier this February, it was announced that the Air Jordan headed the roster of 16 candidates to the illustrious award named after James Naismith, a Canadian PE teacher who invented the game in Massachusetts during the early 1890s. To be eligible for nomination to Mr. Naismith’s honors list, a basketball personality has to be retired from the game for at least 5 years. Jordan permanently shed his playing jersey after his 2002-2003 season spent with the Washington Wizards. Hence, he became eligible for nomination only this year.
